Ridley Welcomes Mina’s Café, a New Coffee and Breakfast Spot

The breakfast sandwiches at Mina's Cafe have been a hit.

Stefanie Dunfee of Norwood, owner of Mina’s Cafe, a new coffee and breakfast spot in Ridley Township, is living her dream of owning a small restaurant, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

“I’ve been cooking my whole life, so I always knew someday, I’d have my own place,” she said.

Mina’s Café at 600 Folsom Ave. had its grand opening in January.

The community has been great and “really supportive,” Dunfee said.

The café is named for her oldest daughter, Mina, 5.  Dunfee is also mom to Nova, 4 months.

Dunfee grew up in Norwood and went to Interboro schools.

Her mother, Phyliss Martino, was a sous chef on the Spirit of Philadelphia and taught her the skills of the trade.

Dunfee had been a longtime employee at the Springfield Ford service department, but her heart was always in the kitchen.

“I got tired of getting fake or pre-cooked eggs at chains and fast food places, so I wanted to open a breakfast place that would offer quality coffee and eggs and other breakfast foods, cooked fresh to order,” she said.

Her breakfast sandwiches, in particular, have been a big hit, she said.
