The Shapiro Administration announces $600,345 in PA Farm Bill grants aimed at expanding opportunities for Pennsylvanians in agriculture.

During the 2026 Farm Show, the Shapiro Administration has announced $600,345 in Pennsylvania Farm Bill grants that are aimed at expanding career opportunities for young Pennsylvanians in the agricultural sector, according to a staff report from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The grants will support projects designed to help youth across the state succeed in the $132.5 billion agriculture industry.

“Pennsylvania youth are the fertile ground that will grow our nation’s prosperity in the future,” said Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding. “The Shapiro Administration is committed to investing in opportunities every young person needs to succeed. Our investments in relevant agriculture education today will help Pennsylvania agriculture businesses meet increasingly complex challenges tomorrow.”

The grants are being supported by Governor Josh Shapiro’s bipartisan 2025-26 budget, which funds a seventh year of Ag and Youth Grants under the PA Farm Bill.

Among the Montgomery County recipients were Variety – the Children’s Charity of the Delaware Valley, which received $7,500 for its Agricultural Vocational Program for Youth with Disabilities, and the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, which was awarded $7,500 for its 2025-26 Transition Envision Horticulture project.
