Jamie Pagliei may be known as the Philly Sports Guy, revving up Eagles fans with his motivational videos, but you’ll often find him hanging out at Dolan’s Bar in Ridley Park, writes Isaac Avilucea for Axios.
You can find him there wearing his spiky green mohawk, Eagles face paint, and Saquon Barkley jersey.
It was five days before the Eagles’ wild-card showdown with the San Francisco 49ers. Pagliei had recorded another of his signature rally speeches at a studio in Delaware, then showed up at Dolan’s in time to see Eagles legend Irving Fryar walk through the door.
Pagliei produces his videos as part of a weekly fan ritual. They are written as locker-room monologues that circulate among Eagles fans, drawing tens of thousands of views
King Creative owner Chris Bruce, who owns the Delaware studio, has known Pagliei for years and has featured him in his projects, including a cameo in his mockumentary, “The Conspiracists” on Amazon Prime.
For Pagliei, whether he’s at the bar or working in the studio, it’s all about community.
“This is where you come to feel connected, to remember why the Eagles matter so much to people around here,” he said.
