Rehab Hospital to Open in May at Former Concordville Inn Site

The Encompass Health Concordville rehabilitation hospital is scheduled to open in Glen Mills this May.

Encompass Health Concordville, a 50-bed rehabilitation hospital, opens next month at the former Concordville Inn site in Glen Mills, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

It is one of two rehabilitation hospitals Encompass Health is opening in the Philadelphia suburbs, with the second planned for the fall in Lower Providence, Montgomery County.

The Concordville hospital will help patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic conditions.

It will be Encompass Health’s 10th hospital in Pennsylvania.

The two hospitals are a $100 million investment by the Birmingham, Alabama-based company.

Lauren Grieder, an Encompass Health executive for the past six years, will serve as CEO of the medical center at the Glen Mills site at 780 Baltimore Pike.

Grieder was previously interim CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Reading in Pennsylvania and at New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland in Maine.

The company has also filed plans for a second Delaware hospital in Bear with 40 beds.

Encompass Health owns and operates more than 170 medical centers across the country. It is the largest rehabilitation hospital company in the U.S., generating revenue of $5.4 billion in 2024.
