Comic Pioneer Jim Drucker Plans Sale of His Norristown-Based NewKadia Empire

NewKadia founder Jim Drucker plans to sell his Norristown-based comic book empire after 25 years of global success.

After a quarter-century of building one of the world’s largest online-only comic book retailers, Jim Drucker is preparing to sell NewKadia.com, as announced in EIN Newswire.

The move marks the next chapter for a pioneer who turned a childhood hobby into a global business success.

Founded in 2000 with just 807 comics from Drucker’s personal collection, Norristown-based NewKadia has since sold more than 2.5 million comic books to fans across 120 countries. The company’s 71% repeat customer rate and industry-leading automation in re-pricing, grading, and shipping comics faster than competitors have made it a standout in online collectibles retail.

Drucker’s entrepreneurial career spans far beyond comics. He was the former commissioner of the Continental Basketball Association and Arena Football League. Drucker was once called “the most creative mind in sports” by The Sporting News. His ventures in media and e-commerce reflect a lifelong talent for reinvention.

Even after a 2022 warehouse flood wiped out a third of NewKadia’s inventory, Drucker rebuilt and expanded operations, proving his trademark resilience.

Now at 73, he hopes to find a successor who shares his passion for storytelling and collecting.
