Pica’s Last Upper Darby Dine-in Day Is Now Only Weeks Away

Pica's Restaurant, in Upper Darby for 69 years, is weeks away from its last dine-in service.

The shutdown of Pica’s Restaurant at 7803 West Chester Pike in Upper Darby is continuing in early fall, with the last day for dine-in Oct. 26, according to an update posted on the restaurant website.

The restaurant has been part of the Delaware County community for almost 70 years, reports CBS News Philadelphia.

The website update indicated that take-out at the Upper Darby location will continue during a transition to a new location in Broomall.

The Pica family plans to continue serving its famous rectangular pizza with the sauce on top at its new Broomall location, according to CBS News.

Pica’s also has a restaurant at 1233 West Chester Pike in West Chester.

The update also advised those interested in “purchasing any fixtures, paintings or furniture,” to reach out as soon as possible, and gave a phone number.

“We thank you for your patience and look forward to serving you soon,” wrote the Pica family.

Pica’s was a favorite community spot for baby showers, wedding showers, parties, and after-show gatherings.

The restaurant was started by Frank Pica Sr. from a bread delivery route and Frank’s Pizzeria in West Philadelphia.
