A Kennett Square couple recently held their picturesque wedding at nearby Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, writes Gina Lizzo for The Hunt.
Local residents Rachel Perry and Cody Eichenlaub married on June 28 after more than a decade of dating. For their special day, the newlyweds hoped for a minimalistic garden-inspired theme, a dream that came to life at Winterthur.
Lush nature and historic stone architecture made for an elegant aesthetic. Greenery and florals were incorporated into the table settings and interior décor.
On top of its scenic design, Winterthur was also the most central, accessible location for the couple’s friends and family.
Rachel and Cody wanted to feel familiar with their wedding venue prior to the ceremony. They attended various events at Winterthur in the months leading up to the day, including holiday parties and horse races.
As for the ceremony and reception, a cocktail hour was held near the garden’s reflecting pool. Later, dancing and speeches took place under a clear tent complete with string lights and views of the night sky.
The event also included a first look and private vows so that the couple could spend time together amid their busy wedding day.
