IKEA and Best Buy Join Forces with Innovative Store-in-Store Partnership

Best Buy and IKEA partner to merge tech and home design with an innovative, first-of-its-kind store-in-store concept.

IKEA, headquartered in Conshohocken, and Best Buy have launched a first-of-its-kind in-store partnership, according to Best Buy.

The partnership will blend high-tech appliances with smart, stylish home furnishings, all in one seamless shopping experience, While the pilot is starting in 10 stores across Florida and Texas, the concept sets the stage for expansion.

The new “IKEA in Best Buy” model introduces 1,000-square-foot shop-in-shop spaces that showcase fully designed kitchen and laundry room setups. Customers can get design guidance from IKEA experts, appliance advice from Best Buy blue shirts. Customers can also pick up IKEA products at select Best Buy stores.

“With this partnership, we get to combine technology and design and show shoppers what’s truly possible in their home like never before,” said Best Buy’s Patrick McGinnis

IKEA U.S. COO Rob Olson said the partnership is “a great step on our journey to helping people create beautiful, functional homes at a price they can afford.”

It’s the first time IKEA’s products and services are being offered inside another U.S. retailer. The partnership could redefine hos people shop for and visualize home upgrades.
