There’s a unique record and bookstore in Media Borough that’s loaded with nostalgia from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
Greatest Hits Records and Books was recently featured on Kelly Drives at Fox 29.
The store is owned by the husband-and-wife team of Stu and Janet. They started with a gift shop around the corner.
“And we started selling a couple of crates of records, and the records were like flying off the shelves,” Stu said.
They added new and used books to their record collection and found a new storefront.
Stu said the store has records covering everything from alt indie to 80s, 90s, independent punk, hardcore, rap, metal, and classic rock.
You’ll also find a section of rarities and Japanese imports.
“I think we wanted to create what we grew up with, the analog, tactile feel of being able to pick out music and books.”
For books, there’s bestsellers, the classics, mystery, sci fi, self-help and more.
There’s even a case devoted to the bookmarks and items left in some of the used books.
There’s also a video department and a few shelves featuring vintage toys and toy collectibles.
