Actress Aubrey Plaza was recently in attendance at a WNBA game and the shirt she wore made Philadelphia and local women’s sports fans proud, writes Michaela Althouse for PhillyVoice.
While sitting courtside Plaza wore a gray T-shirt with orange lettering that reads “Philly is a women’s sports town.”
“Est. 2030” can also be seen on the shirt, a nod to the year in which Philadelphia’s WNBA team is expected to make its league debut.
The shirt was co-designed by Go Hamm, a Philly-based designer brand, along with WatchPartyPHL. The latter is an organization making efforts to open a women’s sports bar in the city in the near future.
Plaza’s sister Natalie, and WatchPartyPHL founder Jen Leary had previously connected over their shared interest in bringing at WNBA team to Philly. Leary was wearing that same shirt when they met about a week prior to the game, which is how Natalie obtained the shirt, giving it to Aubrey.
The shirt is available on the Go Hamm website, with proceeds going toward the future WatchPartyPHL bar launch.
