Wawa, the beloved Delco-based gas station and convenience store chain, is opening a new location in Gallatin, Tennessee, writes Katie Nixon for the Nashville Tennessean, as reported in Yahoo! News.
The new store at 1195 Long Hollow Pike has been highly anticipated by residents with the National Tennessean referring to Wawa as a “National Company” in its headline. It compared the incoming Wawa with a Target that’s also looking to open there and with Buc-ee’s, another popular convenience store chain in the South.
Featuring ten fuel stations, this new store will be 6,374 square feet.
“I’ve heard a lot about people wanting Wawa here,” stated Paige Brown, mayor of Gallatin. Megan Salvador, a Wawa representative, noted how happy she is that locals are excited about the new location.
Kimley-Horn, a design, engineering, and planning consultant firm, is working with Wawa to design the new location.
The development plan was approved by city officials on March 24, with construction scheduled to begin in August. Construction is expected to take nine months, and the store is set to open in May 2026.
Wawa’s signature coffee and fresh hoagies have helped create a strong fan following, similar to Buc-ee’s. Both chains are similarly open 24/7 year-round.
In 2022, Wawa announced that this is one of 40 store locations they plan to open in the Nashville area.
