The FIFA World Cup coming to Philadelphia in 2026 is drawing a lot of sponsors to home team Philadelphia Union.
The latest to jump on board with a multiyear deal is the Philadelphia International Airport, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.
The $234,120 partnership runs 2025 to 2027 and includes airport advertising space at the Union’s Subaru Park in Chester, including the video board and digital flatscreens.
PHL will be featured on 97.5 The Fanatic during broadcast of Union matches and it will also appear on the team’s social and digital media.
Airport events throughout the year will include appearances by Union players and team mascot Phang.
The deal gives the airport major exposure as it offers more than 120 nonstop destinations ahead of and during June and July 2026.
Those are the months when travelers will come to Philadelphia for six World Cup matches at Lincoln Financial Field and attend a FIFA Fan Festival at Lemon Hill in East Fairmount Park. About 500,000 visitors to Philadelphia are expected.
“Soccer is a sport with unmatched global appeal and through this partnership, we will share how we’re proudly connecting the Philadelphia region with the world,” said PHL CEO Atif Saeed.
