Wonder Food Hall, a New Food Delivery Concept, Comes to Newtown Square

A Wonder Food Hall is coming to the Ellis Preserve in Newtown Square.

The Wonder Group out of New York is bringing 10 food halls to the Philadelphia region, including at Ellis Preserve in Newtown Square, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Food halls open in the spring in Ardmore, Fishtown and the Roosevelt Mall in Northeast Philadelphia.

The Newtown Square Hall will open later in the year, joining King of Prussia, West Chester, South Philadelphia, Rittenhouse Square, Mount Laurel, and Cherry Hill.

Wonder’s chef partnerships mean customers can order recreated meals from 25 different chefs and restaurants, including from celebrity chefs Jose Andres and Bobby Flay, as well as Wonder-specific brands, report the Business Journal and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The food is made-to-order at the food hall and available to be picked up there or delivered within a 10- to 12-minute radius.

The focus is on delivery, with a goal of delivering a meal in under 30 minutes from when you press “order,” said Daniel Shlossman, Wonder’s chief growth and marketing officer.

He expects Wonder to do well in the Philadelphia market because of the area’s growing reputation as a food destination.

“It’s going to fit in really, really well alongside that diverse culinary scene in Philly,” Shlossman said.
