Guide for the Perfect Winter Visit to Longwood Gardens

Visitors can find stunning views, engaging family-friendly activities, and delicious food at Longwood Gardens this winter.

Visiting Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square makes for the perfect weekend activity this winter, writes staff for Better Living.

A longtime Chester County community staple, Longwood Gardens features over 1,000 acres of botanical gardens, including both indoor and outdoor nature displays.

With displays rotating throughout the year, residents and tourists can currently visit the Winter Wonder season that lasts from Jan. 17 through Mar. 23.

After taking in the seasonal snowfall on outdoor displays, warm up indoors. Longwood’s Winter Wonder season features a Mediterranean-inspired floral display in the West Conservatory. Visitors can also walk through the Cascade Garden, which features waterfalls, palms, and rainforest greenery for the perfect tropical escape.

Along with its historical architecture, Longwood offers engaging displays for all age groups. At the indoor Children’s Garden, visitors of all ages can take in the floral scents while engaging in family-friendly activities.

It also offers plenty of dining options for visitors. 1906, Longwood’s newest on-site restaurant, features stunning views of the gardens with a menu highlighting Kennett’s history of mushroom farming.

Visitors can also find quick, à la carte menu items from The Café at Longwood Gardens for a convenient bite before spending a day enjoying all that Longwood Gardens has to offer.
