Local Artist Jordan Spector Draws Inspiration from the Philadelphia Eagles

Jordan Spector has loved creating art nearly his entire and has found a way to combine this passion with his passion for sports.

Jordan Spector, a Philadelphia-based artist and big Eagles fan, credits his hometown football team for helping inspire his masterpieces, writes Matteo Iadonisi for 6abc.

Despite being an artist nearly his whole life, he never thought of it as a potential career.

He calls that reality as more of a accident.

“I also played football, so football and art are my two passions,” said Spector.

He was a walk-on football player at Temple University before an injury led him to fall back into art as a way to express his love for the sport.

Eventually, Spector started getting paid for his work and his career took off.

One of his most recent art pieces was a portrait of Saquon Barkley scoring a fourth quarter touchdown in the snow during the Eagles’ divisional round game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Spector was then commissioned to create a customed, hand-painted football, which was Eagles-inspired and has been signed by several players. The football will be auctioned off with half of the proceeds going toward the Eagles Autism Foundation.

He has also launched a new trading card featuring Gillie Da Kid.

Spector now awaits the Super Bowl to see what his next project will be.
