As the Bucks Beer Bash festival approaches, a Bucks County nonprofit is once again partnering with event organizers to promote safer driving for all.
The Bucks County Community Traffic Safety Program, part of TMA Bucks, is dedicated to reducing highway fatalities through initiatives aimed at tackling aggressive driving, driving under the influence, and distracted driving — key contributors to accident rates in the area.
On Saturday, March 8 at The Fuge in Warminster, festival attendees — along with more than 50 local breweries, wineries, and distilleries — will hear vital messages about the importance of responsible driving. Community Traffic Safety Program Manager Carly Wible emphasizes the significance of this partnership, explaining that aligning with a beer festival offers a unique opportunity to reach people where it matters most.
“Partnering with an event like this helps us communicate a crucial message: never drive drunk or impaired,” she said. “We will be present at the festival to reinforce this message and provide participating vendors with special ‘Don’t Drink and Drive’ coasters to serve as constant reminders to their patrons. It’s important for everyone to understand that buzzed driving is drunk driving; even a small amount of alcohol can impair your ability to drive safely. Always plan ahead for a sober ride before attending.”
In response to concerns about overindulgence, Beer Bash organizer Sam Cravero sought to create a more responsible drinking environment.
“Instead of the typical approach, we’ve structured our Main Session of the Beer Bash with a lower admission fee and drink tokens,” he said. “This way, attendees can enjoy their experience while being mindful of their consumption.”
The event also emphasizes safety through a range of initiatives, including a special Designated Driver admission, rideshare options with dedicated drop-off and pick-up zones, and complimentary rides home for those who may find themselves unable to drive — thanks to support from the Community Traffic Safety Program and local officials, including State Sen. Frank Farry and State Rep. Brian Munroe.
“Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that everyone has a fun, enjoyable, and, most importantly, safe experience at the Bash,” Cravero said.
