She is now part of an extremely small group of women coaches that are Super Bowl winners.

The first two women to earn Super Bowl rings were Maral Javadifar and Temple alumna Lori Locust, Javadifar was Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ assistant strength and conditioning coach for Super Bowl LV. Locust was assistant defensive line coach at the same game.

Lockwood’s coaching career started in 2019, as a strength and conditioning coaching intern with the Atlanta Falcons.

She moved on to become assistant director of basketball sports performance at East Tennessee State until February 2021, then shifted to coordinator of sports performance for the women’s soccer, women’s basketball, and softball teams before moving on to the Philadelphia Eagles.

She has earned praise from Eagles vice president of player performance Ted Rath, describing Lockwood’s positive attitude as “infectious.”

“She comes to work with literally the best attitude I’ve ever been around.” Rath told the Inquirer in 2023.
