A Broomall Mobile Irish Pub Was So Popular There’s a Sequel
Broomall Irishman John Chambers struck gold when he created a mobile Irish pub for rent.
After a story on the pub appeared in The Philadelphia Inquirer, Chambers was flooded with requests, booked solid every weekend for a year, Stephanie Farr wrote for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
All that success has generated a companion.
Chambers, a 60-year-old Ireland native, and a 37-year carpenter here in Delaware County, built a second mobile bar, a Philadelphia sports pub.
The three month project includes two 55-inch TVs, three taps, and a 10-foot bar.
Eagles, Phillies, Sixers and Flyers memorabilia adorn the walls. Mood lighting changes depending on who’s playing.
“It’s all in my head,” he said of the design. “That’s why I have no hair left. I keep scratching my head.”
The new pub, at 24 feet long, 8 feet-six inches wide and 12 feet high, is bigger than its predecessor. It can accommodate 15 to 20 people.
Daughter Caitlin said the pub’s been popular during Eagles games and with repeat customers.
“There are some people who don’t care what theme it is and they just want a bar in their driveway,” she said.
