Precautions Taken for Safe and Secure Voting in Delaware County

A Delaware County poll worker oath has been amended banning the workers from placing wagers on elections in prediction markets.

People should feel secure when they cast their ballot on Delaware County’s Election Day and officials are working to make that happen, writes Justin Udo for KYW Newsradio.

“Your law enforcement in Delaware County has been working continuously and they have been working collectively to make sure we’re going to have a safe Election Day and a secure election process,” said Tanner Rouse, Delaware County first assistant to the district attorney.

For voters who face any issues at the polls, the county has set up a hotline to report it directly to the District Attorney’s Office, Rouse said.  That hotline will be manned by the District Attorney’s Office all day starting at 6 AM.

Rouse said there are no specific threats, but that law enforcement is prepared for all possible contingencies.

“I’m looking forward to having a very boring day Tuesday but just know when and if needed, your law enforcement is ready, willing and able and we have made extensive preparations to ensure the safety and security of this election,” Rouse said.

The Election Hotline is 610-891-VOTE.
