Doylestown Dad Pedals 4,600 Miles for Ronald McDonald House in Honor of Daughter

Doylestown dad Jeff Bekos make his way back to Philadelphia after pedaling 4,600 miles for Ronald McDonald Houses along the way.

Doylestown dad Jeff Bekos has made his way back to Philadelphia after pedaling 4,600 miles and raising $600,000 for Ronald McDonald Houses along the way, reports 6abc.

He visited 26 of the charity’s locations throughout the country and reached his final stop at the Ronald McDonald House in University City on Monday.

Bekos’ inspiration for the journey is his daughter. After she was diagnosed with a rare disease, Hailey spent more than 250 nights at one of the charity’s houses.

“They took away all of the pressures of finding a hotel room, food, laundry,” said Bekos, “I mean, everything you have at home, the charity provides for you, so it really becomes your home away from home.”

He added that his aim is to raise money for the charity so that other families who are going through something similar receive the same support as his daughter did.
