Chester County Therapist, Teacher Shares His DNC Experience from ‘Lens of Comedy’

Tell Williams is a Chester County therapist and teacher who went to the DNC.

Before he headed to the Democratic National Convention, Tell Williams, a Chester County therapist and teacher, posted a video of himself getting ready on TikTok, showing the process of choosing his outfit, writes Aliya Schneider for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Williams, whose flights and hotel costs were covered by Vocal Media, an advocacy group, was one of many content creators who were granted exclusive access at the DNC that was not afforded to journalists.

In another video, posted from his hotel room, he told his 2.8 million followers that he had “never felt more connected to a group of people” than when he was surrounded by people “sobbing into their nachos and cheese” as they all watched Michelle Obama speak at the DNC.

“It’s easier to get people to listen when you are talking about something serious but are taking it from the lens of comedy,” said Williams, known online as mrwilliamsprek. “I think it unarms people and allows them to listen and maybe question some of their biases as well.”
