Coatesville mosaic artist Ivy Egger is featured in a temporary art exhibit, Nature’s Bounty, on display at Swarthmore Borough Hall through Sept. 2, writes Nick Iadonisi for 6abc.
Her work is the latest in a series of rotating art work at the borough hall presented through the Swarthmore Friends of the Arts.
“It’s always an honor anywhere they want to display my art and say, ‘yes, let’s put this out for the public to see and enjoy.’ It feels like I’ve accomplished a lot. So inspiring,” Egger said.
Egger, owner of Vine Designs, has used art as therapy, and as a way to find peace as she copes with her own chronic illness. It also helped her find solace during her son’s triumphant battle with leukemia.
“It’s very healing,” she said.
Almost all of her artwork is nature inspired.
“I learned how to do mixed media mosaic and I really took a liking to it. A lot of my audience really enjoys how it catches the light, kind of like a puzzle,” she said.
Egger has made an impact in Delaware County before with her art. In 2023, she was the featured artist at Grante Farms in Media.
