Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square has four alumni are in Paris, participating in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.

Ashley Sessa, Class of 2022, is the youngest player to be named to the Olympic roster as a member of Team USA field hockey.

Sessa is a high-performing member of the reigning NCAA championship UNC field hockey team. She was named All-South Region and second-team All-ACC, finishing her freshman season with 23 points on nine goals and five assists.

As a member of the U.S. Women’s National Team, she also participated in FIH Pro League play in New Zealand and Australia.

“I’m ecstatic. I’m so excited,” Ashley told The Philadelphia Inquirer about making the Olympic team. “This means absolutely everything.

“You work so hard for it, and it’s every kid’s dream. It means everything.”

Jovana Sekulic, Class of 2021, was one of 13 athletes selected for the U.S. Women’s Water Polo Team. The U.S. women are the three-time defending Olympic champions.

Jovana Sekulic is a U.S. Water Polo center.

She earned third-team All-American Honor as a freshman and led her Princeton team to the NCAA Final Four for the first time in program history.

 She has been part of the U.S. team for the last two world championships, scoring four times in Doha in 2024 to win gold.

Ivan Puskovitch, Class of 2019, is competing in the open water 10-kilometer swim.

Puskovitch finished 14th at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar, in February. The top 15 earned automatic bids to the Olympic race.

He qualified for the Paris Games in the open water 10K marathon swim event, making him only the fifth American male to qualify for this event in any Olympics.

“I’m speechless. It’s surreal,” Ivan told USA Swimming.

Puskovitch  had changed coaches about a year ago to be with coach Mo Khadembashi at TSM.  Khadembashi encouraged him to go for the Olympic team.

“I’m so proud to have achieved this for myself and for Team USA to walk out of here as an Olympic qualifier.”

Rower Nick Mead, Class of 2013, is at his second Olympic games, competing in Paris as part of the Men’s 4 with coxswain.

At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Mead rowed in the Men’s 8  placing 4^th after narrowly missing 3rd place.

Mead was named USRowing’s Male Rower of the Year in 2023.

The nine-time national team member won a silver medal in the men’s four at the 2023 World Rowing Championships and was named Male Rower of the Year by USRowing in 2023.
