Greater Philadelphia has four of the state’s top 10 school districts, and one of them is in Delaware County, writes Ethan Lott for Pittsburgh Business Times, as reported in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The ranking is based on standardized test scores.
Radnor Township placed just below Lower Merion School District, which came in third in the state.
Back in March 2024, Niche placed Radnor 10th among the 2024 Best School Districts in America. It made the same list back in 2020.
The two Main Line districts were joined in the top 10 locally this year by Tredyffrin-Easttown at No. 6, and Unionville-Chadds Ford, at No. 8.
In total, 481 of the state’s 500 school districts are ranked.
Delaware County school districts also placed in the top 50 across Pennsylvania. Wallingford-Swarthmore came in at No. 16. Haverford Township took the 18th spot. Springfield came in 22nd. Rose Tree Media took No. 26, while Garnet Valley came in at No. 39.
The formula used to determine district rankings included Pennsylvania System of School Assessment scores for math, English and science, as well as Keystone scores for literature, algebra, and biology.
