Anne Pearlman has been beautifying Richard Drive in Broomall with flowers since 1966.

There’s a hidden street garden in Broomall along the curb on Richard Drive and it’s there because of Anne Pearlman.

The piece of paradise lining the curbside of Richard Drive, was created and is maintained by 88-year-old resident Anne Pearlman, writes Peg Degrassa for the Daily Times.

“When you turn the corner on my street,” said the 88-year-old. “It’s just beautiful. It’s like coming into another world!”

Pearlman’s been beautifying her neighborhood since moving to Richard Drive with her husband Philip in 1966.

Her gardening passion grew after she raised her three children and retired from her law firm secretarial job at age 78.

Her neighbors have been totally on board.

“I’m truly flattered by the response I get from doing this,” Pearlman shared. “It feels good when people are driving or walking by and take the time to stop and compliment me about how it looks.”

Pearlman, a grandmother of six, was a knitter but now prefers gardening as her main hobby.

“As I get older, I can’t do as much as I used to, so I only do about 14 houses now,” Pearlman stated. “I used to be out working on my flowers as soon as the sun came up and be out there for hours.”
