Money is a national magazine that’s been around in one form or another since 1972, so when a Money Magazine list says that Media Borough is one of the 50 best places to live in the U.S., it’s probably on to something.

On the other hand, Buffalo, New York also made their list, writes Victor Fiorillo for Philadelphia.

Money’s editors liked Media’s walkable streets, great schools, nearby Ridley Creek State Park, a thriving downtown restaurant scene, and the fact that the borough shuts down traffic on its main street once a month during warmer months so pedestrians can hang out, check out local restaurants, and party.

They also appreciated its close proximity to Philadelphia and its “stellar economic data.”

“But looking at the rest of Money‘s list of the best places to live in the United States might leave some readers scratching their heads,” Fiorillo wrote.

He hasn’t been to all 50 places on Money’s list, but he’s been to some.

“And I’m here to tell you. I would never visit Richmond, Buffalo, or Cincinnati again. Let alone live there,” he wrote.

Read more about Victor Fiorillo’s take on Money’s list of the top 50 places to live in the U.S. in Philadelphia.
