2 Delco Towns Make Top 100 List of Best Places to Live in U.S.

Three of the top five best places to live in the U.S. happen to be in the Philadelphia region.

Delaware County communities didn’t make the top five, but two of its towns cracked the top 100 list of best places to live, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The rankings come from Niche.com.

Swarthmore Borough came in at No. 30 on the list, down two positions from last year when it ranked No. 28.

The median household income in Swarthmore is $128,995, while its median home value is 443,000.

Rose Valley sneaked in at No. 92. 

In Rose Valley, the median household income is $185,000 while its median home value is $591,800.

Elsewhere in the Philadelphia region, Chesterbrook once again was declared the No. 1 spot in the nation by Niche for 2023. This is the fourth time the Chester County community has achieved that honor.

Others in the top five include Ardmore, at No. 3,  Penn Wynne at No. 5, and Devon, at No. 9.

The annual rankings come from U.S. Census data, the FBI, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the CDC, and millions of resident reviews.
