Local real estate experts have weighed in to select the nine best places to live in Pennsylvania and two Delaware County communities ranked on the list, writes Dobrinia Zhekova for Travel and Leisure.

Glen Mills popped up at No. 7. Karen Johnson with Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate/Luxury Portfolio International, noted the many things to do in Glen Mills, as well as its great schools.

“There are many fun and popular attractions in [the] Glen Mills area,” Johnson said.

That includes Grace Winery, Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride, Newlin Grist Mill Park, The Golf Course of Glen Mills, and the Palmer and Tyler Arboretums.

She also noted that one of America’s largest shopping malls is just a short drive away.

One step down on the list was Chadds Ford, coming in at No. 8.

Broker Victoria Dickinson with Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate/Luxury Portfolio International, described bucolic vistas, historic charm, highly-rated schools and a tight-knit community.

The area is home to several wineries, museums and historic sites.

“The Brandywine River runs through the middle of Chadds Ford and past the historic Brandywine Battlefield. As a result, a large portion of the area remains protected from further development via conservation easement,” she said.
