SAP America Inc. in Newtown Square is now a Kentucky Derby sponsor.

SAP America Inc. in Newtown Square is now a Kentucky Derby sponsor and will get naming rights to parts of Churchill Downs Racetrack, home of the Kentucky Derby, writes Shea Van Hoy for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The software company signed a major multiyear sponsorship deal with Churchill Downs Inc. to become an official signature partner of the racetrack. It is the first technology partner serving the Churchill Downs Racetrack.

The naming rights include the SAP Starting Gate Suites, premium, exclusive suites located at the racetrack.

As a Kentucky Derby sponsor, SAP America will also be designated the presenting partner of the Kentucky Derby and Churchill Downs mobile apps.

“This partnership is a great opportunity for SAP to collaborate with one of the most storied sporting events in the world, the Kentucky Derby,” said Lloyd Adams, president of SAP America, in a statement. “We are proud to work with partners who share our commitment to innovation and are excited to help CDI leverage SAP’s expertise and technology to support the growth of their company.”

SAP has global headquarters in Walldorf, Germany, but set up its North American headquarters in Newtown Square, where it employs 3,500 workers.
