SAP America: Like Working at Home or in the Office? Why Not Try Both?

After two years of predominantly working from home due to the pandemic, many of the region’s largest employers have begun bringing workers back to the office. That includes Newtown Square-based SAP America, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

However, with a tight job market, the high popularity of remote work among workers, and several other external factors, many companies are now opting for a compromise and offering a hybrid option instead of a full return to the office.

Last year, SAP America adopted a Pledge to Flex policy that provides its employees with the option to decide if they want to work at the office, remotely, or in a hybrid model. The policy was extended to cover the first half of 2022.

After this, SAP plans to slowly transition to hybrid work as its employees start to feel more comfortable with coming to the office.

“It won’t be overnight and it won’t be automatic, but we do expect to transition to a hybrid working model as long as it is safe to do so,” said an SAP spokeswoman.
