Hundreds showed up Thursday to sample what chef Kevin Cooper had to offer at his new Chicken Guy! franchise restaurant in the King of Prussia Mall, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

Cooper, a chef from Drexel Hill, won the Guy Fieri chain restaurant two years ago after conquering multiple challenges on the Food Network show, “Guys’ Chance of a Lifetime,” hosted by Guy Fieri.

Fieri and restauranteur Robert Early, founder of Planet Hollywood, have opened 12 Chicken Guy! locations, including the newest one at King of Prussia Mall.

The menu features house-made chicken tenders paired with signature sauces, fries, flavored shakes, salads, and sides like fried pickle chips.

“Robert and I were very excited to give somebody the opportunity to build their own business and be a part of our brand story. We couldn’t be more stoked for Kevin and for him to bring Chicken Guy! to King of Prussia!” Fieri said.

Cooper, who has a bigger-than-life personality with cooking skills to match, said he’s confident customers will love “The Rolls Royce of chicken.”

“When the sun is shining on you, don’t ever look for the shade,” Cooper said. “Bask completely in that light!”
