Philadelphia will soon see a large influx of new restaurants add their unique flavors to the local food scene, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The Philadelphia area is expected to see at least 75 new restaurants in 2024.
Baby’s Kusina & Market, a Filipino-inspired concept of Tam and Raquel Dang, will be upgrading from a food pop-up to a new brick-and-mortar location in Brewerytown.
Felicia Wilson of Amina in Old City will be heading a few doors down for BlackHen, a new BYOB where fried chicken is the main focus.
Near 16th & Sansom Streets, Boqueria, a high-energy New York City-based Spanish restaurant will be coming to Center City.
DaMò Pasta Lab, the creation of Monica Fenocchio and Danilo D’Eugenio, will bring a new pasta shop to 21st and Chestnut Streets.
A new vegan donut destination, Dottie’s Donuts, will be opening an expanded location in Fishtown.
Tequila’s, a notable Mexican restaurant that was damaged by a fire in early 2023, will be revived in Center City.
Two Locals Brewing Co, founded by brothers Richard and Mengistu Koilor, are aiming to open Philadelphia’s first Black-owned brewery in University City.
Just about every neighborhood in Philadelphia will have at least one new, or reopening, dining spot.
