It was a quiet summer for restaurants, with the warmer months not seeing many new restaurant openings.

That’s about to change, however, with September as 23 new restaurants will either open or will plan to open soon in the Philadelphia region, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

It’s a range of prices, food choices, and styles, from bagel cafes, taquerias, and a chef’s table, to a pasta and wine bar.

Joining them will be Buena Onda Radnor, at 220 N. Radnor Chester Road in Radnor.

The Baja-themed restaurant is partially owned by chef Jose Garces, recognized as one of the Food Network’s Iron Chefs and creator of several popular and highly-rated restaurants around the country.

As a Baja taqueria, the restaurant specializes in tacos and burritos in a fast-casual dining setting. It offers sangria, beer and margaritas. It was inspired by Mexico’s Baja Peninsula.

There are sister restaurants in Rittenhouse Square and Fairmount.

The company 3BM1, which includes Garces, owns Buena Onda and several restaurants in Philadelphia. Garcia has been looking at suburban locations to expand and decided on the Main Line.
