They may call it the Philly cheesesteak, but Delaware County has no shortage of places to go when a cheesesteak is calling, writes Ben Silver for Main Line Today.

Here’s just a few recommended places.

Dairy Cottage in Springfield doesn’t skimp on size, especially for the price.

The roll is loaded with meat, topped with large chunks of white onions.

Joe’s Pizza in Broomall is a welcoming atmosphere of nostalgia and familiar warmth.

It offers up a quaint cheesesteak.

Melvina Higgins and her five children have run Joe’s Pizza for 40 years and also own the Dairy Cottage, despite different cheesesteak recipes for each locale.

Drexel Hill Style Pizza in Broomall has been around for 56 years. Its cheesesteaks use fresh rolls from Conshohocken Italian Bakery with its own seasoned ribeye meat.

Delco Steaks in Broomall has no indoor seating with a total focus on the cheesesteak. It uses

a distinct bread coated in sesame seeds, one of the top rolls in the Philly metro area.

Jim’s Steaks in Springfield is two of the four remaining historic Jim’s Steaks that once existed and its steaks taste like its twin’s iconic offerings, though the onions at Springfield Jim’s stand out.
