Tea Rooms in Delaware County Can Chase Away the Winter Cold

If you're in the mood for an afternoon tea, there are four places that can accommodate you in Delaware County.

Fancy a cozy afternoon tea in Delaware County, maybe a high tea with a china teapot, fancy sandwiches, and dainty pastries?

There are actually four tea rooms that can make it happen, writes Emily Kovach for PA Eats.

The Painted Tea Cup in Upper Darby hosts high teas on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with reservations available between 11 AM and 3:30 PM.

There are imported teas served in china and a variety of fresh-made sandwiches and seasonal desserts.

The boutique sells teas and tea accessories, decor, jewelry, gourmet food goods, candles, and more.

The Gifford-Risley House a Media bed and breakfast in an 1877 Gothic Revival-Chalet home,  also serves an afternoon tea to the public on Sundays from 2 to 4 PM.  

There are assorted tea sandwiches and sweets with a variety of herbal or fruity teas.

A Taste of Britain in Wayne has special afternoon teas with offerings such as wild mushroom, bacon and gruyere quiche, scones and sweets.

The Orchard Tea Room at Rose Hip Barn in Thornton, has an afternoon tea between 10 AM and 3 PM one Friday and Saturday per month.

It also hosts tea classes, tea tastings, and tea and food pairing workshops.
