It Was a Philadelphia Eagles Christmas at the White House, Too
Christmas weekend at the White House was Philly-centric after one of the Philadelphia Eagles performed at the White House.
The live performance by Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata also included the presentation of The Philadelphia Eagles Christmas album, “A Philly Special Christmas Special,” to the Bidens, writes Emily Bloch for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Mailata was snuck in to perform at the White House holiday staff party. He sang his rendition of “This Christmas.”
The president and first lady stood for photographs holding the album standing next to Mailata, Lane Johnson, and former Eagle Connor Barwin.
Mailata and Johnson both sang on the album, along with Jason Kelce and guest performers that included Travis Kelce, Patti LaBelle, and Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis.
Barwin was its executive producer.
It was all part of a Christmas surprise for Dr. Jill Biden, an enthusiastic Eagles fan.
Last year, Mailata sang several songs, including “This Christmas” during the Eagles team holiday party.
“He’s a gifted musician,” holiday album producer and War on Drugs drummer Charlie Hall told USA Today. “Obviously, he can sing. You hear him sing, and it’s no joke. It is for real.”
