It started off as a simple project to record the recollections of family members.

“I got diagnosed with Parkinson’s 16 years ago, and I’m starting to forget some things, and I wanted to archive some of our moments,” said Joe Possenti.

Now that simple mission has turned into the highly successful Delco– and Philly-themed Poz 5 podcast featuring celebrity sports guests and has more than 10,000 listeners, reports Tim Furlong for NBC 10 News.

At one time, the Possenti brothers all played sports for Temple, Bloomsburg, and Villanova. Now they invite guests to come on and talk about their own sports experiences.

“We have a guest twice a month, and we do the NFL picks. That’s every week. So we do it about six or seven times a month,” said Mike Possenti.

The podcast is recorded around a table in their Aston home.

A recent podcast visitor was former Villanova head basketball coach Jay Wright.  He was Villanova’s assistant basketball coach when Mike Possenti played there.

“All these guys with great careers. It’s fun to have them come into our house,” Mike Possenti said.

The Poz 5 podcast is available on YouTube or anywhere podcasts are available.
