These Delaware County School Districts Are Among the Highest-Paying in Pennsylvania

Delaware County boasts 4 of the highest-paying school districts in Pennsylvania.

Twenty-three of the 26 highest-paying school districts in Pennsylvania are in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Four of them are in Delaware County.

Ridley School District pays its 477 professional personnel the most among Delaware County districts, coming in 12th best with an average salary of $99,298.93.

Rose Tree Media School District is next, at 13th best, with an average salary of $99,111.66 for 367 personnel.

They are followed by Radnor Township School District, ranked 16th in the region, with 356 professional personnel earning an average of $96,617.70. 

Finally, the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District appears at the bottom of the list of 25 top-paying districts in the region, with an average salary of $92,075.61 for its 317 professional personnel.

Lower Merion School District in Montgomery County pays the highest salary among the top 25 districts in the region, at $111,226.18 for 899 professional personnel.

By county, Bucks County has the best-paid staff in Pennsylvania, with an average salary of $94,200.

Delaware County comes in sixth in the state in a ranking of best-paid staff.

Salaries are determined by several factors, including length of service for those employed.
