If you’d like fresh turkey to be part of your holiday meal, it’s important to pre-order so you can pick it up in time for it to be ready for Thanksgiving.

Here in Delaware County, there are two spots where fresh turkeys can be found.

Martindale’s Natural Market, at 1172 Baltimore Pike in Springfield, is one of the first health-food stores in the country. It stocks a limited supply of pastured, organic turkeys from Lancaster Farm Fresh Co-op, organic ones from Koch’s Farms, and heirloom turkeys from Stryker Farms.

Linvilla Orchards at 137 Knowlton Road in Media sources its birds, ranging from 10 to 30 pounds as well as fresh turkey breasts, from a Chester County farm.

Call soon to reserve your fresh turkey, which you can pick up as late as Thanksgiving morning by 11 AM.

Preorders are required for turkeys. Call 610-876-7116 for pricing information.
