If you’re looking to up your game this year at the Thanksgiving feast with a fresh turkey, there are two Delaware County locations that have what you need, writes Earl Hopkins for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Martindale’s Natural Market at 1172 Baltimore Pike in Springfield is accepting pre-orders for fresh turkeys through Nov. 24, with the last day for pickup Nov. 26.
Martindale’s has stocked a limited supply of pastured, organic turkeys from Koch’s Farm.
Cost is $5.99 a pound, with the birds ranging from 14 to 18 pounds.
Preorders require a $20 deposit.
The store is open Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 9 PM, and Saturday, 9 AM to 9 PM.
Linvilla Orchards at 137 Knowlton Road in Media brings fresh turkeys from Linvilla Orchards’ Chester County family farm.
Preorders are available through Nov. 20.
Turkey breasts and whole birds are available, ranging from 10 to 30 pounds, all the way up to Thanksgiving morning.
Whole turkeys run $4.99 a pound, with turkey breasts at $7.99 a pound.
Linvilla can also complement your Thanksgiving table with pies, doughnuts, breads, and side dishes, including roasted Brussels sprouts, sausage and stuffing, and cranberry sauce.
