Norwood’s St. Stephen’s Church is making sure that Delaware County kids get fed.

The Blessing Bags for Children Program includes snacks, drinks, and all three meals of the day, so kids reliant on subsidized lunches can get the food they need over the weekend, writes Nick Iadonisi for 6 ABC.  

The program started by feeding 20 children a week, and it is now serving 150, according to the program’s director Catherine Powell.  

Former recipients have seen such a positive impact that they got involved in the program themselves.  

“I had lost my job, and I started coming for bags of food for my son to make sure he didn’t have to go hungry on the weekends,” said Co-Coordinator of Blessing Bags Jacqueline Mifsud. 

The bags are handed out on Friday evening from 5:30 PM to 7 PM.
