Independence Mission Schools (IMS), a nonprofit network of independent Catholic schools serving 4,000 students in grades Pre-K to 8 from families in and near Philadelphia, has appointed Beth Alfonsi as Chief of Staff.

With her extensive experience in education, Alfonsi will play a critical part in serving and supporting the 14 schools in the IMS network. In her role, she is responsible for managing the Operations, Finance and Accounting, and HR functions of the organization.

“IMS has a proven track record of making a difference in the lives of thousands of students, and I am thrilled to be part of an organization so deeply committed to educational equality and excellence,” said Alfonsi. “I look forward to working alongside the talented team at IMS to continue expanding opportunities and creating positive change for our students and communities.”

Most recently, Alfonsi served as the Executive Director of Advancement at Malvern Prep, where she successfully generated 85 percent of the school’s $20 million budget annually. She also restructured and rebuilt the Development, Enrollment Management, Marketing, and Communications departments to enhance their overall effectiveness.

“We are delighted to welcome Beth as our new Chief of Staff,” said Gianna D’Angelo, President and CEO of IMS. “Her passion for helping students, knowledge of the current education landscape, and mission-driven attitude make her a vital asset. We are confident that under her guidance, the IMS community will continue to grow and be a resource for many children and their families.”

Beth holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Temple University and a master’s degree in strategic leadership from Neumann University.
