Philadelphia-based OT Foods, a granola brand that grew 55 percent last year, is hoping to take things to the next level with a possible major natural grocery stores deal and increased direct-to-consumer sales, writes Lisa Dukart for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The company started co-packing its three granola flavors last month, which has greatly increased its capacity.

Before the move, Cherry Almond Vanilla, Peanut Chocolate Chip, and Oatmeal Raisin granolas were produced and packed by hand in West Philadelphia, at the Dorrance H. Hamilton Center for Culinary Enterprises.

Now, with the Cherry Hill co-packer up and running, OT Foods’ founders are hoping to put their products on the shelves of organic and natural retailers, such as Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, and Mom’s Organic Market.

Simultaneously, they have begun increasing their direct-to-consumer sales, which currently make up around 20 percent of their business. The goal is to increase that number to 30 percent or 40 percent over the course of the next year.

“Now that we have the new co-packer, I feel like we can really scale the business,” said OT Foods co-founder Sarah Coff.
