Eagles fans didn’t care that it was 3 AM at Lincoln Financial Field. They lined up anyway to get the newly-issued Kelly green jerseys, writes Beatrice Forman for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The jerseys are making a comeback and people like Allison Cawley, 37, of Havertown, are clamoring to get them.

Cawley made Jell-O shots Friday anticipating the long wait Monday morning.

”I make them for every game, so I obviously had to bring shots today,” Cawley said. The recipe has Malibu rum, and key lime Jell-O to give it the bright green color.

She came with her friend Kelly Christ, 34, of West Chester.

”We grew up wearing these jerseys in the ‘80s and ‘90s. They bring us back,” said Christ.

The two joined hundreds who lined up around Lincoln Financial Field Monday morning.

The jerseys are a few shades brighter than the ones the Eagles now wear. They will be worn twice this season.

For fans, the jerseys have come to represent tenacity and winning in the days of NFL championships and legends like Randal Cunningham and Reggie White.

The jerseys retail between $130 and $175. You can buy them at the Linc, and at the Cherry Hill and Lancaster Eagles Pro Shop locations.
