Gambling Revenue Up in July Statewide, Including at Harrah’s Philadelphia in Chester

Gaming revenues were up statewide and at Harrah's Philadelphia, Chester, in July 2023 compared to a year ago.

Gaming revenue in Pennsylvania was up 8.85 percent in July over the same month last year, for a total of $467,043,707.

Gaming revenue came from slot machines, table games, internet gaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests, and video gaming terminals, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Harrah’s Philadelphia in Chester showed total revenues in July 2023 of $18,102,164, a 3.8 percent increase over July 2022.

Statewide, slot machine revenue remained the most lucrative for casinos, with $214,668,942 in revenue generated in July 2023, up .36 percent over last year. 

Coming in second was iGaming slot revenue, at $94,854,351, with a significant jump in revenue over last year of 31.91 percent.

Harrah’s Philadelphia slot machine revenue in July 2023 was $9,612,052, down 16.56 percent over July 2022.

Harrah’s also saw a decline of 23.95 percent in table games revenue, down to $2,652,053 in July 2023 compared with $3,487,408 in July 2022.

However, Internet gaming revenue for Harrah’s Philadelphia in July 2023 was $5,691,538, up a strong 80.29 percent over July 2022.

Harrah’s Philadelphia also generated $1,146,520 in July 2023 from sports wagering, an increase of 381.28 percent over July 2022.
