Video Shows Villanova’s Brendan Hausen Making 48 Consecutive 3 Pointers
A viral video on X (formerly Twitter) this week demonstrates that the Villanova Wildcats may have an emerging sharp-shooting talent that will be hitting the collegiate basketball scene starting this season, writes Frankie Taddeo for Sports Illustrated.
Brendan Hausen, a 6-foot-four-inch sophomore shooting guard, posted a video to his social media page this week showing him making 48 consecutive corner three-pointers.
Hausen stated he actually successfully made 70 consecutive three-pointers but because of upload constraints, only part of the video was shared.
With numbers like that, Hausen is being compared to Steph Curry, who made 105 consecutive 3-pointers during a Golden State Warriors practice in 2020.
Villanova Coach Kyle Neptune calls Hausen “one of the best shooters we’ve ever had at Villanova.”
The video backs up those words. Many players struggle to even successfully hit 48 straight free throws, let alone this kind of shooting performance.
Hausen is nicknamed “The Amarillo Assassin” because he dominated the high school basketball scene in Texas.
As a freshman Wildcat at Villanova, he averaged just 8.9 minutes last season but seems destined to make a difference going forward.
In his limited time in 2022, Hausen shot 42.9 percent from beyond the arc (27-for-63).
