The Wilson sisters (Taylor, No. 44) and Brooke, No. 5) played three seasons together at Archbishop Carroll.

Brooke Wilson, a senior at Archbishop Carroll, is facing off-season basketball training for the first time this summer without her best friend, older sister Taylor Wilson, writes Isabella DiAmore for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Taylor, a 6-foot forward, is training at West Point, joining the military academy as a cadet while she continues her basketball career.

Brook is 15 months younger. This summer is the first time the two won’t play basketball on the same team since grade school.  They started in fifth grade, with the Lower Delco Wildcats.

The separation is only temporary. Brooke is joining West Point and Army’s basketball program after she graduates Carroll.

Army coach Missy Traversi has no problem bringing Brooke to the West Point team with a scholarship after watching her play in the summer of her junior year.

The news brought joy to Brooke, Taylor, and their family.

“That story kind of shows how strong our connection is, how much we love each other. Also how similar we are in our work ethic, just our connection as sisters, and also as basketball players,” Brooke said.
