Historic Louella Court in Wayne is home to Colonna Contemporary, an art gallery that incorporates digital and traditional art, writes Caroline O’Halloran for Savvy Main Line.

“My vision is to bridge the worlds of traditional and digital art – from pigment to pixel,” owner Michele Colonna said.

He chose Wayne for his gallery because it “has the intellectual heft and cultural foundation for a contemporary art gallery to thrive.”

Digital art is the most important art movement in our time, as impactful as the pop art revolution that started with Andy Warhol in the 1960s, he said.

The 700-square-foot gallery hosts work from a world roster of painters and fine art photographers, with more available online.

It’s also a meeting place for art enthusiasts through artist talks, exhibitions, and workshops.

“There’s a great deal of creative innovation happening,” Colonna says. “The gallery can play a crucial educational and advisory role in helping collectors understand and navigate the space.”

Colonna is a former marketing executive who now works exclusively in contemporary art.

He has a personal collection of more than 300 digital works.

“It’s an exciting time for collectors and I want to bring that excitement to the place I call home.”
