Media Borough, known locally as “Everyone’s Hometown” was chosen as one of Apartment Therapy’s Coolest Suburbs in America 2019, writes Diana Spalding for apartmenttherapy.com.

Locales were chosen based on cultural activities, sense of community, and quality of life.

This down-to-earth walkable town with Quaker roots and a strong commitment to the community is full of warmth for everybody. From the historic courthouse to the shops and restaurants of State Street, there’s plenty of hometown to visit.

Media is home to a weekly farmers market, Dining Under the Stars every Wednesday night, May through September; and the Media Arts Council , which hosts a gallery of rotating exhibits and events.

It is America’s First Fair Trade Town, meeting all of the Fairtrade Foundation’s requirements, including access to fair trade goods at local businesses.

The borough has Glen Providence Park, the county’s oldest park.  The Delaware County Summer Festival in Rose Tree Park is nearby.

“It is an old-fashioned small town—friendly, walkable, and quaint—and also a progressive, forward-looking community with a lively arts scene and a green ethic.”  said Robin Lasersohn, resident, grant writer, and co-coordinator of Keep Media Green.
