Tributes and condolences continue to pour in worldwide from fans remembering rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Charlie Gracie of Drexel Hill, who died on Dec. 16.

Thousands of friends, musical peers, and fans have reached out to his family, including video messages from Paul McCartney, Graham Nash, Van Morrison, and other celebrities.

On June 23, a free tribute event “Forever Fabulous” takes place at the Media Theatre in Media Borough honoring Gracie’s memory with video and spoken tributes, a musical jam, and more.

Charlie Gracie’s musical career spanned 71 years, and he has been credited with influencing and inspiring musicians like McCartney who came after him.

His son and wife donated Charlie’s guitar to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame In March for a new exhibition honoring Gracie and other foundational artists.

“Charlie Gracie’s influence was massive, extending from his hometown of Philadelphia, Pa., to around the globe,” said Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame President Greg Harris said. “Charlie was as authentic as it gets and you can see why Paul McCartney, Graham Nash, Van Morrison, and many of the early rockers loved him so much.”
